Indications
- Treatment of mild to moderately severe bacterial infections

Pharmacology
- Acid-stable and absorbed from upper small intestine
- Potassium salt best absorbed
- Convenient for treating Gram-positive infections
- Advantage over penicillin G in resistance to gastric acid inactivation
Dosage
- Determined according to sensitivity of causative micro-organism
- Adjustable based on severity of infection and clinical response
- Adult dosage: 250-500 mg every 6 hours
- Children's dosage: varies by age and weight
- Best taken with an empty stomach
