- Severe side effects related to the lungs; fatal liver toxicity; reversible corneal microdeposits; impaired vision; peripheral neuropathy and myopathy; bradycardia and conduction disturbances; phototoxicity and skin discoloration; hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism; raised serum transaminases; jaundice, hepatitis, and cirrhosis; gastrointestinal complaints; neurological disorders; rashes; vasculitis; renal involvement; hematological abnormalities
- May require dose reduction or discontinuation of therapy
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Should not be administered during pregnancy due to risks of hypo or hyperthyroidism in infants
- Safe use during lactation not established
