Dosage Schedule
- 3 times daily for 1 week then reduced to 200mg twice daily
- Initial Load: 150mg per 100mL infused over 10 minutes, followed by 1mg/min for 6 hours, followed by 0.5mg/min thereafter

- Treatment of ventricular fibrillation
- Prophylaxis of ventricular tachycardia
- Correction of abnormal heart rhythms
- Management of atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter
Pharmacological Actions
- Delay in heart's electrical system recharge
- Prolongation of electrical phase during heart's muscle cell stimulation
- Slowing of electrical conduction through the heart
- Reduction in rapidity of firing of the heart's pacemaker
- Dilation of blood vessels
