Indications

  • Treatment of infections caused by gram-positive bacteria
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Respiratory tract, nasal, ear, and throat infections
  • Sensitive and other bacterial infections
  • Infections post-surgical procedures

Dosage & Administration

  • Recommended dosage for adults
  • Oral dosage: 500mg four times a day
  • Muscle injection: 250mg every 4-6 hours
  • Venous injection: 500mg every 4-6 hours
  • Pediatric dosage: half the adult dosage for 2-10 years, one-quarter for under 2 years
  • Preparation and administration of injections

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated for penicillin-hypersensitive patients

Side Effects

  • Mild and temporary reactions similar to other penicillins
  • Common side effects: fever, diarrhea, indigestion, rash, and hives

Precautions & Warnings

  • Caution for patients with allergy history
  • Do not use as subconjunctival injection or eye drops
  • Proper storage and preparation for syrup and drops
