Treatment for infections caused by gram-positive bacteria
Treatment for infections caused by penicillinase-producing staphylococci
Treatment for skin and soft tissue infections such as boils, abscess, cellulitis, infected wounds, infected burns, protection for skin grafts, ulcer, eczema, and acne
Treatment for respiratory tract, nasal, ear, and throat infections such as pneumonia, lung abscess, empyema, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and otitis media
Treatment for sensitive bacterial infections such as osteomyelitis, enteritis, endocarditis, urinary tract infections, and septicemia

Adults oral dosage: 500mg four times a day, with or without food
Adults intramuscular injection dosage: 250mg-500mg every 4-6 hours
Adults intravenous injection dosage for plural cavities: 500mg once daily
Adults intravenous injection dosage for joint cavities: 500mg once daily
Pediatric oral dosage: half of the adult dosage for 2-10 years, one-fourth of the adult dosage below 2 years
Pediatric intramuscular injection dosage: 250mg with 1.5ml-2ml water for injection or 500mg with 2ml water for injection
Pediatric intravenous injection dosage for plural cavities: 500mg with 5-10ml water for injection
Pediatric intravenous injection dosage for joint cavities: 500mg with 5ml water for injection or 0.5% lidocaine hydrochloride solution

Mild and transient side effects similar to other penicillins such as fever, diarrhea, indigestion, rash, urticaria, and erythematous rash

Caution advised in patients with a history of allergy to penicillins
Avoid subconjunctival injections or eye drops
Store prepared oral syrup and drops in a cool place, preferably in a refrigerator
Prepared injectable cloxacillin solution to be used within 30 minutes
Injectable cloxacillin solution remains effective for up to 24 hours at normal temperature (25°C)
