- Active against Gram-positive organisms
- Little activity against Gram-negative bacilli
- Bactericidal antibiotic
- Inhibits formation of bacterial cell wall
- Resistance to penicillinase

- Peptidoglycan synthesis inhibition
Dosage
- Oral administration for adults and children
- Parenteral administration for adults, elderly, and children
- Dosage adjustment for severe infections
- Dosage adjustment based on age
Administration
- Oral doses administered 1 hour before meal
Interaction
- Concurrent use may result in increased levels of Auxil in blood
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients
