Indications
- Treatment of infections caused by Gram-positive organisms
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Respiratory tract infections
- Treatment of osteomyelitis, enteritis, endocarditis, urinary tract infection, meningitis, septicaemia
- Prophylactic use in major surgical procedures
Pharmacology
- Active against Gram-positive organisms
- Inhibits cell wall formation of bacteria
- Bactericidal antibiotic
- Kills bacterial cell wall
- Interferes with peptidoglycan synthesis
Dosage
- Oral administration for adults, children, and parenteral administration
- Dosage doubling in severe infections
- Intramuscular and intravenous injection for adults and children
Administration
- Oral doses administered 1 hour before meal

- Concurrent use with other medications
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients
