Description
Tryptin is a tricyclic antidepressant with marked anticholinergic and sedative properties.
Mode of Action
Inhibits reuptake of noradrenaline and serotonin at the nerve ending, rapidly absorbed from the GI tract, excreted in the urine

Dosage and Administration
- Depression: Initially 75 mg daily, increased gradually as necessary to 150-200 mg
- Nocturnal Enuresis in Children: 10-50 mg at night
- Prophylaxis of Migraine: 100 mg daily
- Tension Headache: 10-25 mg three times daily
Interaction
- Enhances sedative effect of alcohol and opioid analgesics
- Increases risk of ventricular arrhythmias with Moxifloxacin or Terfenadine
- Inhibited metabolism with Disulfiram and Cimetidine
- Enhances risk of postural hypotension with diuretics
