Indications

Pharmacology

  • Active against Gram-positive organisms
  • Resistance to hydrolysis by penicillinase
  • Gastric acid stability
  • Bactericidal antibiotic
  • Inhibits formation of bacterial cell wall
  • Interferes with peptidoglycan synthesis
  • Weakens bacterial cell wall
  • Steric hindrance against bacterial penicillinase

Dosage

  • Oral administration
  • 250 mg four times daily for adults
  • Doubled dosage for severe infections
  • Intramuscular injection dosage for adults
  • Intravenous injection dosage for adults
  • Dosage for children

Administration

Oral doses should be administered 1 hour before meal

Interaction

  • Concurrent use with certain medications can result in increased levels of Flux DS in blood

Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients
