Indications
- Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections
- Treatment of respiratory tract infections
- Treatment of osteomyelitis
- Treatment of enteritis

- Prophylactic agent for surgical procedures
Pharmacology
- Active against Gram-positive organisms
- Little activity against Gram-negative bacilli
- Inhibits formation of bacteria cell wall
- Resistance to hydrolysis by penicillinase
- Bactericidal antibiotic
Dosage
- Adult oral dose: 250 mg four times daily
- Children oral dose: 1/2 adult dose for 2-10 years, 1/4 adult dose for under 2 years
- Intramuscular injection: 250 mg four times daily
- Intravenous injection: 250 mg-1 g four times daily
- Oral doses administered 1 hour before meal
Interaction
- Increased level of Isoflu in blood with concurrent use
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients
