Indications
- Treatment of infections due to Gram-positive organisms
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Respiratory tract infections
- Osteomyelitis
- Enteritis
- Endocarditis
- Urinary tract infection
Pharmacology
- Active against Gram-positive organisms
- Inhibits the formation of bacterial cell wall
- Bactericidal antibiotic
- Useful against penicillinase-producing staphylococci
Dosage
- Adult dosage: 250 mg four times daily
- Children (2-10 years) dosage: 1/2 of adult dose
- Intramuscular Injection for adult: 250 mg four times daily
- Intravenous Injection for adult: 250 mg-1 g four times daily
Administration
- Oral doses should be administered 1 hour before meal
Interaction
- Concurrent use may result in increased level of Monaclox-F in blood for prolonged period
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients

- Urticaria

- Interstitial nephritis
- Hepatitis
- Cholestatic jaundice

- Caution should be exercised when administered to a lactating mother
Precautions & Warnings
- Use with caution in patients with evidence of hepatic dysfunction
- Caution in the treatment of patients with an allergic diathesis
Use in Special Populations
- In severe renal failure, consider reduction in dose or extension of dose interval

Reconstitution
- Administration in other routes in conjunction with systemic therapy
- Administered by intraarticular and intrapleural injection
- Inhaled by nebuliser four times daily
