Indications
- Ear, nose and throat infections

Pharmacology
- Broad spectrum penicillin
- Inhibition of biosynthesis of cell wall
- Stable in the presence of gastric acid
- Rapidly absorbed after oral administration
Dosage
- Adult dosage: 250 mg three times daily
- Children dosage: 125 mg three times daily
- Severe purulent respiratory infection dosage: 3 gm every 12 hours
- Otitis media recommended dosage: 1 g three times daily for adults
- Pneumonia recommended dosage: 500-1000 mg three times daily
- Dental abscess recommended dosage: 3 gm repeated after 10-12 hours
- Urinary tract infections recommended dosage: 3 gm repeated after 10-12 hours
Administration
- Reconstituted suspension can be administered with milk, fruit juice, or water
Interaction
- Concurrent use with Probenecid may result in increased blood levels
- May affect gut flora and estrogen reabsorption
Contraindications
- Penicillin hypersensitivity

- Rarely reported pseudo-membranous colitis

Reconstitution
