Indications
- Ear, nose and throat infections

Pharmacology
- Broad spectrum penicillin
- Inhibition of biosynthesis of cell wall
- Stable in the presence of gastric acid
- Rapid absorption after oral administration

Dosage
- Adult: 250 mg three times daily
- Children: 125 mg three times daily
- Recommended doses for specific infections
- Adjustment in renal impairment
Administration
- Reconstituted suspension with milk, fruit juice, water
- Immediate consumption of preparations
Interaction
- Concurrent use with Probenecid increases and prolongs blood levels
- Affects gut flora leading to reduced efficacy of oral contraceptives
