Indications
- Ear, nose, and throat infections

Pharmacology
Effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, acts through the inhibition of cell wall biosynthesis, stable in the presence of gastric acid, rapidly absorbed after oral administration, widely distributed in body tissues and fluids
Dosage
- Adult:
- 250 mg three times daily
- Up to 500 mg three times daily for severe infections
- Children:
- 125 mg three times daily
- Up to 250 mg three times daily for severe infections
- Specific dosage for purulent respiratory infection, otitis media, pneumonia, dental abscess, urinary tract infections, and gonorrhea
Administration
Reconstituted suspension can be administered by adding the required amount of suspension to milk, fruit juice, or water
Interaction
Concurrent use with Probenecid may result in increased and prolonged blood levels, may affect gut flora and lower estrogen reabsorption
Contraindications
Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients
