Indications
- Treatment of ear, nose, and throat infections

Dosage
- Adult dosage of 250 mg - 500 mg three times daily
- Children dosage of 125 mg - 250 mg three times daily
- Specific dosage recommendations for severe or recurrent purulent respiratory infection, otitis media, pneumonia, dental abscess, urinary tract infections, and gonorrhea
- Adjustment in renal impairment
Administration
- Reconstituted suspension can be administered by adding to milk, fruit juice, water
Interaction
- Concurrent use with Probenecid may increase and prolong blood levels of the medicine
- May affect gut flora and reduce efficacy of combined oral estrogen/progesterone contraceptives
Contraindications
- Contradicted in penicillin hypersensitive patients
Side Effects
- Mild and transient side effects such as diarrhea, indigestion, rash
- Rarely reported pseudo-membranous colitis
