Pharmacology
- Broad spectrum penicillin
- Inhibition of cell wall biosynthesis
- Stable in gastric acid
- Rapid oral absorption
- Widely distributed in body tissues and fluids
Dosage
- Adult dosage of 250-500 mg three times daily
- Children dosage of 125-250 mg three times daily
- Special dosage for severe or recurrent purulent respiratory infection, otitis media, pneumonia, dental abscess, urinary tract infections, and gonorrhoea
- Dosage adjustment in renal impairment
Administration
- Reconstituted suspension can be mixed with milk, fruit juice, or water
Interaction
- Potential interaction with Probenecid
