Indications
- Treatment of ear, nose, and throat infections

- Broad spectrum penicillin

Dosage
- 250 mg three times daily for adults
- 500 mg three times daily for severe infections in adults
- 125 mg three times daily for children
- 250 mg three times daily for severe infections in children
- Specific doses for purulent respiratory infection, otitis media, pneumonia, dental abscess, urinary tract infections, and gonorrhea
Administration
- Reconstituted suspension can be administered with milk, fruit juice, or water
Interaction
- Concurrent use with Probenecid may increase and prolong blood levels of Simox
- May affect gut flora and estrogen reabsorption, reducing efficacy of combined oral contraceptives
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients

- Mild and transient side effects
- May include diarrhea, indigestion, rash
- Rare cases of pseudo-membranous colitis
