Indications

Pharmacology

Broad spectrum penicillin
Inhibition of cell wall biosynthesis
Stable in gastric acid
Rapid absorption after oral administration
Widely distributed in body tissues and fluids

Dosage

Adult dosage: 250 mg three times daily, up to 500 mg three times daily for severe infections
Children dosage: 125-250 mg three times daily, as per severity of infection
Different dosage recommendations for specific infections

Administration

Suspension can be administered with milk, fruit juice, or water
Immediate intake after preparation

Interaction

Concurrent use with Probenecid may increase blood levels
Impact on gut flora and estrogen reabsorption

Contraindications

Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients
