Indications
- Ear infections

Pharmacology
Broad spectrum penicillin
Dosage
- Adult dosage: 250 mg three times daily
- Child dosage: 125 mg three times daily
- Severe or recurrent purulent respiratory infection: 3 gm every 12 hours
- Otitis media for adult: 1 g three times daily
- Otitis media for children: 40 mg/kg body weight daily in 3 divided doses
- Pneumonia: 500-1000 mg three times daily
- Dental abscess: 3 gm repeated after 10-12 hours
Administration
Reconstituted suspension can be added to milk, fruit juice, or water and should be taken immediately
Interaction
Concurrent use of SK-mox and Probenecid may result in increased and prolonged blood levels of SK-mox
Contraindications
Amoxicillin is contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients

Pregnancy & Lactation
Amoxicillin is FDA pregnancy category B. Caution should be exercised when used during lactation
Precautions & Warnings

- Intramuscular reconstitution: Add 2.5 ml water for injection to Amoxycillin 500 mg injection vial
- Intravenous reconstitution: Dissolve Amoxycillin 500 mg injection in 10 ml water for injection
