Indications
- Ear, nose and throat infections

Pharmacology
Effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria
Dosage
- Adult: 250 mg three times daily, increasing up to 500 mg three times daily for severe infections
- Children: 125 mg three times daily, increasing up to 250 mg three times daily for severe infections
Administration
Reconstituted suspension can be administered by adding to milk, fruit juice, water
Interaction
Concurrent use with Probenecid may result in increased and prolonged blood levels
Contraindications
Contraindicated in penicillin hypersensitive patients
Side Effects
Mild and transient in nature, including diarrhoea, indigestion, occasionally rash.
Pregnancy & Lactation
US FDA pregnancy category B, caution should be exercised when administered to lactating mother
Precautions & Warnings
Possibility of superinfections with mycotic or bacterial pathogens should be kept in mind during therapy
