Description
Cephalexin is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, genito-urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, ear, nose, and throat infections, and bone infections caused by susceptible organisms. It acts by interfering in the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, weakening the cell wall and causing the bacterial cell to swell and rupture. It is available in adult and children's dosage forms. Cephalexin belongs to the Therapeutic Class of First generation Cephalosporins.
