Indications
- Upper respiratory tract infections

Description
- Acid-stable
- Semi-synthetic cephalosporin
- Rapidly absorbed after oral administration
- Maintains urine concentration above MIC for 20-22 hours
Pharmacology
- Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis
- Binds to penicillin-binding proteins
- Inhibits transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis
- Results in bacterial cell death
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 1g per day in one or two divided doses
- Children dosage: 30mg/kg daily in divided doses every 12 hours
- May be taken with or without meals
- Administration with food may reduce gastrointestinal complaints
Interaction
- No significant drug interaction with other drugs
Contraindications
- Patients with history of hypersensitivity to Cefadroxil or its ingredients
