Interaction

Contraindications
- Avoid use in patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to cephalosporins

- Rare side effects: glossitis, heartburn, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, vaginitis, candida overgrowth, skin rashes, joint pains, edema, blood disorders, fever, psychiatric disorders, nervous system disorders, liver enzyme disturbances, reversible interstitial nephritis
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Safety in pregnancy not established
- Excreted in breast milk, caution in lactating mothers
- May cause dizziness, caution while operating hazardous machinery
Precautions & Warnings
- Prolonged use may result in superinfection
- Administer with care to patients hypersensitive to penicillins
- May cause a false positive urine glucose result
- Dosage adjustment necessary in renal impairment
- Contains lactose, avoid in patients with galactose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption
Use in Special Populations
- Recommended doses for renal impairment
- Higher doses may be required for chronic or severe infections
- Treatment duration for at least 2 to 3 days after symptoms have resolved or bacteria eradicated
- Regular monitoring required for chronic urinary tract infections
- Paediatric dosages not to exceed those specified for adults
Overdose Effects

Storage Conditions
- Freshly prepare suspension
- Reconstituted suspension should be used within 7 to 14 days
- Injection solutions retain potency for 2 to 12 hours
