Indications

  • Treatment of infections caused by sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria
  • Upper respiratory tract infections
  • Lower respiratory tract infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • Susceptible microorganisms (in vitro)

Pharmacology

  • Broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic
  • Active against both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms
  • Inhibition of cross-linking process in bacteria cell wall

Dosage & Administration

  • Oral administration for adults and children
  • Doses for urinary, respiratory, skin, and soft tissue infections
  • Injectable administration for adults and children

Interaction

  • Concomitant use of nephrotoxic drugs
  • Enhanced risk with diuretics and probenecid

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins
