Dosage
- 500mg four times daily for adults with urinary tract infections
- 250 to 500mg four times daily for adults with respiratory tract infections
- 250 to 500mg four times daily for adults with skin and soft tissue infections
- Total daily dose of 25 to 50mg/kg for children
- Maximum daily dosage: 4 gm
- Usual dose of 2-4 gm daily in four equally divided doses for adult injectable administration
Interaction
- Concomitant use of nephrotoxic drugs may increase the risk of kidney damage
- Diuretics and probenecid can enhance renal toxicity

Storage conditions
- Eusef Suspension should be freshly prepared
- Reconstituted Suspension should be used within 7 days if kept at room temperature or within 14 days if kept in a refrigerator

- Indicated for the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections
- Indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections

Pharmacology
- Active against infections caused by both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms
- Inhibits cross-linking process in cell wall of bacteria leading to lysis
Interaction risks
- Increased risk of kidney damage when used concomitantly with nephrotoxic drugs

- Contains lactose - Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine
