Semisynthetic broad spectrum bactericidal antibiotic
Active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms
Inhibition of cross-linking process in bacteria cell wall

Dosage adjustment for elderly and patients with impaired renal or hepatic function

Nephrotoxic drug interaction
