Indications

Treatment of infections caused by sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria
Upper respiratory tract infections treatment
Lower respiratory tract infections treatment
Urinary tract infections treatment
Skin and soft tissue infections treatment

Pharmacology

Broad spectrum bactericidal antibiotic
Active against both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms
Inhibits cross-linking process in cell wall of bacteria
Main site of action is the cell wall of bacteria

Dosage & Administration

Oral administration for adults and children
Dosage for urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections
Injectable administration for adults and children
Dosage adjustment for elderly and in renal impairment

Interaction

Increased risk of kidney damage with concomitant use of nephrotoxic drugs
Enhanced possibility of renal toxicity with diuretics and probenecid

Contraindications

Should not be used in patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to cephalosporins
