Indications
- Treatment of infections caused by sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria
- Upper respiratory tract infections
- Lower respiratory tract infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
Pharmacology
- Semisynthetic broad spectrum bactericidal antibiotic
- Active against both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms
- Inhibits cross-linking process in cell walls of bacteria
- Causes lysis of bacteria due to external osmotic pressure

Interaction
- Increased risk of kidney damage with nephrotoxic drugs
- Possibility of renal toxicity with diuretics and probenecid
