Description

  • Sefril is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic used for the treatment of infections caused by sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Indications

  • Upper respiratory tract infections
  • Lower respiratory tract infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Skin and soft tissue infections

Pharmacology

  • Cephradine is a semisynthetic broad spectrum bactericidal antibiotic active against both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.

Dosage & Administration

  • Oral administration for adults and children
  • Dosage adjustments for elderly patients or those with impaired renal or hepatic function
  • Injectable administration for adult and pediatric patients
  • Maximum daily dosage of 4 gm

Interaction

  • Concomitant use of nephrotoxic drugs may increase the risk of kidney damage
  • Diuretics and probenecid enhance the possibility of renal toxicity

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins
