Description
- Sefril is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic used for the treatment of infections caused by sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Indications
- Upper respiratory tract infections
- Lower respiratory tract infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
Pharmacology
- Cephradine is a semisynthetic broad spectrum bactericidal antibiotic active against both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.
Dosage & Administration
- Oral administration for adults and children
- Dosage adjustments for elderly patients or those with impaired renal or hepatic function
- Injectable administration for adult and pediatric patients
- Maximum daily dosage of 4 gm
Interaction
- Concomitant use of nephrotoxic drugs may increase the risk of kidney damage
- Diuretics and probenecid enhance the possibility of renal toxicity
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins

- Prolonged use may result in the development of superinfection
- Administer with care to patients hypersensitive to penicillins
- May cause a false positive urine glucose result

Overdose Effects

Storage Conditions
- Freshly prepare suspension
- Reconstituted suspension should be used within 7-14 days
- Injection solutions should be used within 2 hours at room temperature
- Potency retained for 12 hours at 5°C
