Indications
- Treatment of infections caused by sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria
- Upper respiratory tract infections
- Lower respiratory tract infections

Pharmacology
- Semisynthetic broad spectrum bactericidal antibiotic
- Active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms
- Inhibits cross-linking process in the cell wall of bacteria

- Adult dosage for urinary tract infections
- Adult dosage for respiratory tract infections
- Adult dosage for skin and soft tissue infections
- Children dosage for otitis media
- Maximum daily dosage for children

Interaction
- Concomitant use of nephrotoxic drugs

Precautions & Warnings
- Prolonged use may result in superinfection
- Administer with care to patients hypersensitive to penicillins
- Cephalosporin antibiotics may cause a positive result in Coombs’ testing
- May cause a false positive urine glucose result
- Dosage adjustment in renal impairment
- Contains lactose, not for patients with rare hereditary problems
Use in Special Populations
- Recommended doses for patients with renal impairment
- Higher doses may be required for chronic or severe infections
- Recommendations for chronic urinary tract infections
