Indications

Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 250 mg every 8 hours
- Pediatric dose: 20 mg/kg/day

Interaction
- False-positive reaction for glucose in the urine
- Interaction with oral anticoagulants (Warfarin)
Contraindications
- Known allergy to the Cephalosporin group of antibiotics

- Avoid use in absence of bacterial infection
- Risk of developing drug-resistant bacteria
- Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms
- Inhibited renal excretion by Probenecid
- Prescribed with caution in individuals with a history of gastrointestinal disease
- Careful inquiry about previous hypersensitivity reactions
- Administered cautiously to penicillin-sensitive patients
