Description

  • Indicated in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, otitis media, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, urinary tract infections, skin and skin structure infections
  • Active against various organisms such as Streptococci, Staphylococci, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella species
  • Dosage varies for adults and children
  • Contraindicated in patients with known allergy to the Cephalosporin group of antibiotics
  • Potential side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms, transient hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice, fever, abdominal pain, superinfection, renal dysfunction, toxic nephropathy, hemorrhage, elevated LDH, pancytopenia
