Indications
- Treatment of infections caused by sensitive bacteria
- Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes
- Acute Bacterial Otitis Media caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis
- Acute bacterial maxillary sinusitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae
- Lower respiratory tract infections including pneumoniae caused by various bacteria
- Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis and secondary bacterial infections of acute bronchitis caused by certain bacteria
- Skin and skin-structure infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes
- Urinary tract infections caused by E.coli or Klebsiella pneumoniae
- Bone and Joint Infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus
- Gonorrhoea caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae

Pharmacology
- Broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against a wide range of common pathogens
- Good stability to bacterial β-lactamase
- Active against ampicillin-resistant and amoxycillin-resistant strains
Dosage
- Dosage for adolescents and adults (13 years and older)
- Dosage for paediatric patients (3 months to 12 years)
- Dosage for parenteral administration in adults, children, and neonates
- Specific dosages for various infections such as pharyngitis/tonsillitis, acute bacterial maxillary sinusitis, chronic bronchitis, skin infections, urinary tract infections, pneumonia, MDR Typhoid Fever, Early Lyme disease, meningitis, and bone and joint infections

- Use of freshly reconstituted solution recommended
- Recommended potency maintenance duration at room temperature and at 5° C

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known allergy to Cephalosporins
Side Effects
- Adverse effects occurred infrequently
- Effects reported include rashes and gastrointestinal disturbances
- Prolonged use may result in the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms
Pregnancy & Lactation
- US FDA pregnancy category B
- No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
- Caution advised during lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution advised for patients receiving concurrent treatment with potent diuretics and with a history of colitis
- Possible safe administration to patients hypersensitive to penicillin
- Likely not a problem at recommended dose levels
