Indications

Broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against a wide range of common pathogens, including beta-lactamase producing strains

Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known allergy to Cephalosporins

- Prolonged use may result in the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms
Pregnancy & Lactation
- US FDA pregnancy category of Cefuroxime is B
- Cefuroxime excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing woman
Precautions & Warnings
- Careful use in patients receiving concurrent treatment with potent diuretics
- Cross reactions may occur in patients hypersensitive to penicillin
- Not likely to be a problem at recommended dose levels
