Indications
- Treatment of hypertension alone or with other agents
- Initial therapy for patients needing multiple drugs for blood pressure goals
Pharmacology
- Fixed dose combination of Telmisartan and Amiodipine
- Telmisartan is a non-peptide angiotensin receptor blocker
- Amiodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium-channel blocker
Dosage & Administration
- Usual starting dose is 40/5 mg once daily
- Maximum recommended dose is 80/10 mg once daily
- Individualized dosage based on patient response
Interaction
- No clinically significant interaction with acetaminophen, glyburide, simvastatin, etc.
- Safely administered with thiazide diuretics, beta-blockers, etc.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the product or its components
- Pregnancy & lactation
- Biliary obstructive disorders, severe hepatic impairment, etc.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Precautions & Warnings
- Avoid fetal or neonatal exposure

- Monitor for worsening heart failure
- Avoid concomitant use of ACE inhibitor and angiotensin receptor blocker
Use in Special Populations
- Pediatric use not established
- Initial therapy not recommended in patients ≥75 years old or hepatically impaired
Overdose Effects
- Manifestations include hypotension, dizziness, tachycardia
- Symptomatic hypotension treatment should be instituted
- Excessive peripheral vasodilation with hypotension expected in overdosage
