Indications
- Treatment of infections caused by sensitive bacteria

Administration
- Use of freshly reconstituted solution recommended
- Potency maintenance for at least 24 hours at room temperature or 48 hours at 5 degrees C

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known allergy to Cephalosporins
Side Effects
- Infrequent and generally mild and transient adverse effects
- Rashes and gastrointestinal disturbances reported
- Prolonged use may result in the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms e.g. Candida
Pregnancy & Lactation
- US FDA pregnancy category B
- No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
- Caution required during lactation, excreted in human milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Care required with concurrent treatment with potent diuretics
- Patients with history of colitis should receive with care
- Cross reactions with penicillin reported
