Mode of Action

Absorption
40% to 50% whether administered with or without food
Dosage for Adults
- 200-400 mg daily
- may be continued for up to 14 days if required
Dosage for Children
8 mg/kg/day
Dosage for Typhoid (Children)
5 mg/kg body weight twice daily for 10-14 days
Dosage in Renal Impairment
Adjusted based on creatinine clearance
Interaction
May cause increases in prothrombin times in some patients
