Bactericidal Activity
- Marked in-vitro activity against a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms
Mode of Action
- Interferes with the synthesis of bacterial cell wall
Absorption
- About 40% to 50% whether administered with or without food
Dosage & Administration
- Usual course of treatment is 7 days
- Adult dosage: 200-400 mg daily
- Dose adjustment in severe renal impairment
- Recommended children's dosage based on age and weight
Interaction
- Potential interaction with anticoagulant therapy
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics
