Description
Gen-3 is an orally active cephalosporin antibiotic indicated for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and other acute infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is bactericidal against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The usual recommended dosage for adults is 200-400 mg daily, and for children, it varies according to age and weight. Side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, central nervous system effects, hypersensitivity reactions, hematological and clinical chemistry alterations, and others. It should be used with caution in pregnant and nursing women, and in patients with hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics.
