Description
Kuracef is an orally active cephalosporin antibiotic indicated for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and other acute infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
Dosage
Usual course of treatment is 7-14 days. Adult dosage is 200-400 mg daily. Children's dosage is based on age and condition.
Pharmacology
Cefixime is a third generation semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic with bactericidal activity against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria by interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Administration
Can be administered with or without food. Adjust dosage in elderly and patients with renal impairment.
