Indications

  • Gram-positive and Gram-negative organism infection treatment
  • Upper Respiratory Tract Infections treatment
  • Lower Respiratory Tract Infections treatment
  • Urinary Tract Infections treatment
  • Treatment for infections caused by Streptococcus pneumonia
  • Treatment for infections caused by Escherichia coli
  • Treatment for infections caused by Proteus mirabilis
  • Treatment for infections caused by Klebsiella species
  • Treatment for infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae
  • High stability in the presence of beta-lactamase enzymes

Pharmacology

  • Bactericidal activity against gram positive and gram negative bacteria
  • Interference in the synthesis of bacterial cell wall
  • Stability in the presence of Beta-lactamase enzyme
  • About 40%-50% absorption with or without food

Dosage & Administration

  • Usual treatment duration of 7 days
  • Recommended adult dosage of 200-400 mg daily
  • Dosage adjustment in severe renal impairment

Interaction
