Indications
- Upper respiratory tract infections treatment

Pharmacology
- Orally active
- Bactericidal
- Interferes with bacterial cell wall synthesis
- High stability in the presence of Beta-lactamase enzyme

Dosage & Administration
- Usual treatment course of 7 days
- May be continued for up to 14 days if required
- Recommended adult dosage of 200-400 mg daily
- Dosage adjustment in severe renal impairment
- Dosage based on severity of infection
Interaction
- Potential increase in prothrombin times
- Caution when receiving anticoagulant therapy
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics
