Description
Zemicef is an orally active cephalosporin antibiotic with bactericidal activity against a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. It is used for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, lower respiratory tract infections, and urinary tract infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is a third generation semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic that interferes with the synthesis of bacterial cell walls and is highly stable in the presence of Beta-lactamase enzymes. The recommended dosage depends on age, severity of infection, and renal function. It should be used with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics.
