Interaction

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to cefotaxime or cephalosporin group of antibiotics

Precautions & Warnings

  • Prescription caution in individuals with history of gastrointestinal disease
  • Reduction of dosage in patients with renal insufficiency
  • Continued dosage determination by degree of renal impairment, severity of infection, and susceptibility of causative organism

Use in Special Populations

  • Dosage reduction in severe renal failure
  • Dosage adjustment according to course of infection and general condition of the patient
