Indications
- Treatment of acute otitis media caused by specific microorganisms

Pharmacology
- Oral 3rd generation cephalosporin
- Good stability to beta lactamases
- Activity against Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria
- Prodrug with active metabolite Cefpodoxime
- Excretion of 29-33% unchanged in urine in 12 hours
Dosage & Administration

Interaction
- Interaction with antacids reducing peak plasma levels

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known allergy to Cefpodoxime or cephalosporin antibiotics
Side Effects

- Higher incidence of fungal skin rash in children
