- Bactericidal Action

Dosage
- Usual Adult Dosage: 1 gram administered intravenously or intramuscularly every 8 to 12 hours
- Dosage Range for Adults: 1 to 6 gm per day 8 or 12 hourly (IM/IV)
- Dosage Range for Children: 30 to 100 mg/kg/day
- Dosage for Neonates and Children up to 2 months of age: 25 to 60 mg/kg/day

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Ceftazidime or Cephalosporins

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy: Use only if clearly needed

Precautions & Warnings
- Reduced dosage for patients with renal insufficiency
- Prescribed with caution in individuals with a history of gastrointestinal disease
Impaired Renal Function
- Dosage reduction for glomerular filtration rate <50 mL/min
- Initial loading dose of 1 gram
Overdose Effects
- Seizure Activity
- Encephalopathy
- Neuromuscular Excitability
- Coma
Reconstitution
- Amount of WFI to be added for IM and IV administration
