Pharmacology

Dosage

  • Adult dosage: 1 gram every 8 to 12 hours
  • Dosage determined by susceptibility, infection severity, renal function
  • Dosage range for adults: 1 to 6 gm per day
  • Dosage reductions for elderly patients
  • Dosage range for children: 30 to 100 mg/kg/day
  • Dosage for neonates and children up to 2 months: 25 to 60 mg/kg/day

Administration
