Dosage

  • Usual Adult Dosage: 1 gram every 8-12 hours
  • Dosage determined by susceptibility, severity of infection, and renal function
  • Dosage depends on severity, sensitivity, type of infections, age, weight, and renal function
  • Dosage range for adults: 1 to 6 gm per day
  • Dosage range for children: 30 to 100 mg/kg/day

Administration

  • Intravenous or deep IM injection
  • Reconstitution with Sterile Water for Injection

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to Ceftazidime or cephalosporin antibiotics

  • Dosage reduction in impaired renal function
  • Usage in peritoneal dialysis and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis
  • No dosage adjustment for patients with hepatic dysfunction
