Description
Tazimax Injection is indicated for the treatment of patients with infections caused by susceptible strains of various bacteria. Ceftazidime, the active ingredient, is a broad-spectrum antibiotic with bactericidal action. It is administered intravenously or intramuscularly and is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics. The drug has potential side effects including local reactions, allergic reactions, gastrointestinal symptoms, and central nervous system reactions. It should be used with caution in patients with renal insufficiency and a reduced dosage is recommended in such cases. Tazimax Injection belongs to the therapeutic class of third generation Cephalosporins.

It is also active against some gram-positive organisms and stable to most clinically important beta-lactamases.
