Pharmacology

Dosage
- 1-2 gm for adults by intravenous or intramuscular administration
- 250 mg for uncomplicated gonococcal infections
- 1 g for surgical prophylaxis
- 50-75 mg/kg for infants and children
- Duration of therapy: 4-14 days, longer in complicated infections
